PROFILE
Dato’ Bruce graduated from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia with a Bachelor of Economics in 1988 and Bachelor of Laws in 1990. Bruce was called to the Malaysian Bar in January 1992. He undertook his pupilage in Messrs Chooi & Co and was retained by Messrs Chooi & Co as a legal assistant in the litigation department involving banking & general litigation. In 1993, Bruce joined Messrs T H Su & Co. where he specialised in the areas of corporate and non-corporate receivership and insolvencies. This encompassed a broad spectrum of areas including corporate advisory, banking and general commercial transactions and, conveyancing work covering various industries related with the receivership and liquidation of corporate and non-corporate entities including co-operatives, developer companies, insurance companies, and partnerships. Bruce was also closely involved in the revival and rehabilitation of several abandoned housing projects carried out by TPPT Sdn Bhd, under the auspices of Bank Negara Malaysia. Since the establishment of the Firm, Bruce’s areas of work shifted to advisory on various mergers and acquisitions and corporate exercises for public listed companies, including corporate restructuring involving diverse industries. He has also advised on medium to large scale commercial and property transactions including the advisory on various state privatisation projects, as well as banking conveyancing. Bruce also sits on the Board of Directors of 2 Public Listed Companies and several private limited companies. He is also a trustee of the Malaysian Chinese Women Entreprenurs Foundation, a charitable organisation extending micro-credit to deserving recepients. Apart, he also serves as legal advisor to a several non-profit organizations including schools and associations.
